His works depicting a love and commitment for the oceans and its preservation have brought him international acclaim.
A self taught artist, MacKay has created works that express an originality of style and an attention to detail that reflects the beauty, mystery and fragility of the ocean world.
Working in a variety of mediums, MacKay has created monumental works in paint, fired ceramics and bronze. From a 7' X 35' canvas painting for the Outrigger Hotels Hawaii to a 4,000 square foot sculpted underwater reef in Wailea, Maui.
